What a great day for the Saratoga Storm U13 girl’s team. For the second weekend in a row they came out on top, this time by shutting out the entire field.

SWYSC Club Team Tryout Dates: • Saturday, July 18 – Girls 9-noon, Boys 1-4 p.m. • Wednesday, July 22 (6-8 p.m.) • Wednesday, July 29 (6-8 p.m.) • Saturday, August 1 (only if necessary for individual age brackets)
Players should make every effort to be at a minimum of 2 of the 3 tryout dates.
SWYSC Club Team Tryout Location: Gavin Park NOTE: Every player must tryout ON AGE. If your child wishes to play-up, you will need to fill out an Exceptional Player Form and have it sent in to the SWYSC before July 1, 2009.
Any requests submitted after this date will not be approved. The form can be downloaded from our Online Forms.
NOTE: Team selection is the decision of the SWYSC. While coach’s opinions are considered in the process, the SWYSC has the final decision on player placement. Some factors that will NOT influence team placement include car pools, previous team placement, a player’s parent being team coach or manager, or siblings.

Please note that Gavin Park is enforcing the parking restrictions on the road leading up to and including the back lot. This Thursday, June 4 the park has requested that the Sheriff's Department ticket all vehicles not parked in appropriate parking spaces.
CLUB WANTS NEW BOARD MEMBERS FOR 2009-10
The Saratoga-Wilton Youth Soccer Club is governed by a Board of Directors (max. of 14, min. of 9) elected by the membership each spring. The health of the Club depends in large part on the energy and commitment of its volunteer board members. Board seats are open to any member interested in declaring his/her candidacy (see requirements below). This year, all 14 seats are open.Newly elected Directors assume office in July.
Application Requirements
Any member who is at least 19 years of age, is not a paid employee or contractor of the Club, and is a “Member in Good Standing”may declare their candidacy for the Board by submittal of a timely and complete application. Candidates shall supply, as part of their application, a statement of qualifications (100 words or less). Applications are due by June 8, 2009, and should be sent to President Peter MacDonald via e-mail () or mail: 42 W. Harrison St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
The Election Committee shall review and approve each application before including the name of the member on the Final Slate of Candidates. The approved Slate of Candidates shall be submitted to the Board of Directors for final approval.

Dear Saratoga Wilton Youth Soccer Families:
I write to you as we begin the 2008-09 travel season to talk frankly about three major issues facing the Club:
1) the quality of our soccer product—what we provide our players/teams and how well they progress,
2) the cost of enhancing quality and success, and
3) the importance of increasing our volunteer base, especially in terms of fundraising. Below, I discuss each of these issues and provide our plans for addressing them.

We have scheduled an organizational meeting/practice for Sunday, Nov. 16, 5-6:30 pm, indoors in the old gym at Gavin Park. At that meeting, Bob will provide info on the program, registration, costs, etc. (There is also a second organizational meeting/practice on Sunday, Dec. 14, 5-6:30 pm, at Gavin for those unable to make the first one.)
We have already scheduled 10 indoor practices, all on Sundays at Gavin from 5-6:30 pm: Nov. 16; Dec. 14; Jan. 4, 11, and 25; Feb. 1, 8, and 22; March 1 and 8.
