MayDay 2008 A HUGE Success! The Saratoga Wilton Youth Soccer Club recently had their annual May Day Classic Soccer Tournament April 26th and 27th, 2008 at Gavin Park in Wilton. It was a hugh success with over 97 teams competing from Souther Vermont to Eastern Massachussetts. In attendance there were over 3,000 + people. There was a Speed Kick competition on Saturday for the older aged level players that was a hugh success. On Sunday there was the Shoot-Out with the biggest trophies available presented to winning players.
Saratoga U10 Boys coach, Jeff Geller had a skills session throughout Sunday in addition to coaching three teams entered in the tournament.

On behalf of the Niskayuna U12A girls and U12a boys, I wanted to personally thank you and the Saratoga Wilton Youth Soccer Club for once again organizing and running an excellent tournament.
- You had your schedule completed and communicated out well ahead of the tournament date.
- This made it easier for players and families to get it on their calendars and plan accordingly.
- The parking was well-directed, and as a Coach I greatly appreciated when they let me park on the lot closest to field 6, so I did not have to lug the soccer bag and balls from the farthest parking spot.
- The schedule was right on time, and stayed on time.
- The officiating was fair, and safe, although the referees were inconsistent about the switching at the 12.5 minute mark
- I would prefer that they do switch but it was not a major factor in any of the games
- Your concessions had good variety and was fairly priced.
- I also like the healthy food choices (as well as the Ben & Jerry’s)
- The kids also enjoyed the playground.
- This has nothing to do with soccer, but my kid said that while he enjoyed competing in the games, he also enjoyed being able to play with his teammates during the breaks. It is nice to let them be kids.
Thank you again for all of your time, and effort in running a top-notch tournament.
Joseph M. McDonald
Coach, Niskayuna U12 Girls
Vice-President of Finance

Just a note of thanks for an enjoyable, well-run tournament. I was there as coach of a U17 girls team and a U12 8v8 boys group, both from Berkshire Ajax. I think this was the fourth time I've been over to your tournament and thought this was the best yet.
Many thanks.

The Adams Soccer Club (ASC) would like to thank SWYSC for allowing us, the U12 & U14 Girls, to participate in your May Day Tournament. What a great event! The tournament was well run and the competition was excellent. Our players and parents had a great time and came away with many fond memories. Please pass this on to your club.
We look forward to hopefully participating in the future.
Thank you,
Bob Rodowicz

It was great to finally meet you, someone I have been corresponding with. I also wanted to thank you for letting us participate in your tournament yesterday. It was a fun opener to our spring soccer season. We are getting ready to participate in the Vermont D-1 Division this year. I felt the games went well yesterday, except for our last game, against the Alley Cats, where are they from? They were very aggressive aan very pushy! I understand that the game gets more aggressive as the kids get older. Thank goodness for the referees who definitely made the calls.
Thanks again, it was fun.
Deb Madden,
Manager
Southern Vermont Soccer U16 Girls.
