Once again this year, the Saratoga Youth Soccer Club is running a donation program during the May Day tournament to benefit a Grassroots soccer program in the Dominican Republic.
Last year, nearly one hundred pairs of cleats were collected and donated. This year, we are hoping to up our quota.
The donation program is accepting all gently used cleats and clothing from soccer seasons past. Everything donated will be sent to Futbol para La Vida, a Grassroots soccer program in Batey Libertad, Dominican Republic. FPV not only provides the local youth with an opportunity to play soccer, but also educates them about AIDS and HIV, along with other social issues they may face.
Donation bins will be placed throughout Gavin Park during the May Day tournament. We ask that any donated items are washed before being donated.
